I’m a mega rock fan and remember all those brilliant nights at the various venues in the late 70s and 80s. Saw Jameson Raid loads of times plus Magnum, Cryer, Spifire and on it goes. Does anyone remember Cerberus? Saw them a few times, and good shows at the Golden Eagle and Railway. Also saw Silmarillion (who became Marillion) supported by the Raid on a Sat lunchtime in the bierkeller on new street. Can’t remember the venues name. Fantastic times and I was in a couple of bands Tour de Force and Indya. Knew Shy quite well and played some gigs in Brum but mainly JBs and London. Brum Beat always took the mickey out of us and we were compared to Spinal Tap had some grudging positives now and then. Great to see so many names from the past. Modern music is massively over hyped, bring back the 80s and big hair like Wrathchild. I remember they were banned from somewhere in Brum so ended up at a pub near the Railway. We then supported them at Worcester College on the weekend
We are now actively looking for content for the archive and will always add content that you send to us. The archive is a labour of love and we update it in our spare time.
