I am about to release a double vinyl LP of mainly unissued material (recorded between 1973 and 76) by Big Front Yard, which was the band Mike and Steve Dolan had after their previous outfit Hard Meat split up at the beginning of 1971. I am researching Hard Meat and have almost completed this.
Big Front Yard was a quartet that released an independent 45 on Rampant Records in 1975 and gigged extensively in the west midlands including with the Foley Arms in Great Malvern their “home venue” – and where I think the final live appearance happened, at Christmas 1976. Others included Lenches Club near Evesham, Dudley College of Education June Ball, Birmingham Rep theatre, the Dirty Duck in Worcester and Barbarellas. Sadly Mick and Steve Dolan, drummer Alan Mennie (Pete Sinfield/King Crimson) and guitarist Sam Sun have all passed away though later drummers Keith Baker and Rob Mason I believe are still active. ,
